What Are Workflow Management Rules?

Workflow management rules are a way for businesses to define their own business processes without having to have extensive programming expertise. These rules allow organizations to automate the task of completion and spot any potential problems in real time.

In the workflow, evaluation criteria determine when an action should be completed. The criteria may be based upon a variety of parameters, including fields, record types as well as the ownership of records and more. Workflow rules can be set to trigger action based on events related to notes within the particular module. A company could configure the rule to trigger every time a note is made or modified to ensure that customer support teams can easily keep track of competitor mentions and respond quickly.

Once a rule is triggered it will trigger either a quick action or a scheduled one. Instant actions occur when the rule is activated while scheduled actions are activated at later times and dates.

The scheduled action will be carried out at the time and date configured. The action can be a task, email notification field update webhook, or function. You can also choose any email notifications, tasks field updates, webhooks and webhooks to be associated with the scheduled action. You can also select the tag that you want to use to filter the recorded data to the action.
